Detailed Outline
As you may be aware, NSW is party to a national ministerial agreement to the implementation of the National Training Framework. To meet obligations under the agreement a Public Services Training Package has been developed by PSETA (Public Sector Education and Training Australia) the organisation established by the Public Service Commissioners in 1998.
The real benefits from this Package will be increased mobility of skills and recognition of the knowledge our workforce requires enabling the government to deliver quality services.
This Package will also enable new and more relevant Government Traineeships to be offered to people interested in employment in the NSW Public Sector and thus has direct relevance to all NSW agencies.
To provide a consistent, equitable and whole of government approach, a policy and guidelines document has been developed to assist agencies apply the Public Services Training Package and other relevant national training packages.
The Public Services Training Package can be accessed at www.pseta.com.au and the NSW Implementation Guide (Tool kit) can be accessed at Premier's Department web site: www.dpc.nsw.gov.au
Further assistance can also be obtained by contacting the NSW Public Service Industry Training Advisory Body at www.psitab.com.au
