Detailed Outline
The Statutory and Other Offices Remuneration Tribunal (SOORT) annual determination for 2000 in relation to the Senior Executive Service provides for increases in remuneration of 2% on and from 1 October 2000, and a further 2% increase on and from 1 April 2001. ( http://www.remtribunals.nsw.gov.au/index.html )
Application of these increases to members of the SES depends on satisfactory performance reviews. Ministers' senior staff are not members of the SES, but as their remuneration is linked to SES rates, the increases should apply subject to recommendations by the relevant Minister.
Senior staff of your office who are eligible for the increases are listed in the enclosed schedule. You may provide your recommendation in respect of these staff by completing and returning the schedule.
Increases in remuneration, on your recommendation, will be effective from 1 October 2000 and 1 April 2001. MaPS Division, Premier's Department will advise the Chief Executive Officer of your host agency of changes in remuneration. Please note that performance payments and the Recruitment & Retention Allowances determined by SOORT are not available to Ministers' staff.
All increases in remuneration are to be funded from within the approved budget allocation for your office.
Any enquiries should be directed to Mr Trevor Barnes, Director, Ministerial and Parliamentary Services, telephone: 9228 5584 or email: [email protected] .
