I am pleased to announce that www.jobs.nsw.gov.au went live on 26 July 2001. As you would be aware, jobs.nsw is an online recruitment service that provides a single access point for people seeking employment in the NSW Public Sector.

jobs.nsw will bring substantial efficiency benefits to the NSW Public Sector in publishing advertisements and related employment material; and in the production and distribution of information packages. It also benefits jobseekers by providing immediate online access to information packages, links to useful websites and electronic lodgement of applications.

The Department of Public Works and Services is conducting training sessions for operational staff to familiarise themselves with the new system and it is imperative that agencies participate in this process. Operational staff involved in recruitment activities will now require internet access in working with jobs.nsw. As such, Chief Executives are encouraged to provide internet access as appropriate.
