Detailed Outline
The NOIE NetSpots resource www.noie.gov.au/netspots is a national directory developed to enable people to find the nearest public internet access facility. The directory is accessible by telephone on 1800 222 797 and currently lists almost 1200 public internet access points.
A review of current listings in the database shows NSW listings for 94 libraries, two community centres, eight telecentres, 11 cafes, zero schools and 31 'other'.
NSW Government agencies provide a wide array of services online and public internet access points enable those members of the community who do not have an internet connection at home or work to enable access to these services.
Agencies are encouraged to make appropriate entries into the database to enable internet access to the widest community. You are requested to bring this circular to the attention of all staff in your agency.
The NSW Government portal ServiceNSW (www.nsw.gov.au) provides a link to the Netspots database and easy access is provided through the 'search' facility.
