C2005-15 Commonwealth Legislation: Choice of Superannuation Fund

Detailed Outline

In Circular No. 2004-41 reference was made to conducting further information sessions for payroll managers and staff. These sessions will be especially relevant to senior managers, human resources officers and staff who process payroll and superannuation matters.

Speakers from the Public Employment Office (PEO) and FSS Trustee Corporation (FTC) will provide information on how fund choice works in the NSW public sector, how to handle employee inquiries, payroll administration issues, and Superannuation Guarantee compliance issues where an employee chooses a fund other than First State Super. There will also be a session covering the definition of financial advice with examples given of the kind of information employers can and cannot provide.

The information seminars will commence at 11.30am with lunch to follow at the following locations on the dates specified:

29 April 2005 - Panthers World of Entertainment, Mulgoa Road, Penrith
6 May 2005 - Bathurst Panthers, 132 Piper Street, Bathurst
12 May 2005 - Central Coast Leagues Convention Centre, Dane Drive, Gosford
18 May 2005 - The Lighthouse, 68-80 George Street, Parramatta
