C2006-12 Premier's Public Sector Awards 2006
The Premier's Public Sector Awards have been presented since 1997 to encourage and acknowledge outstanding projects and initiatives which have produced proven benefits for New South Wales (NSW). They formally recognise and reward achievements of excellence and provide an opportunity to showcase the NSW public sector's commitment to quality and the provision of service.
Nominations are now invited for 2006. The closing date for entries is Monday 10 July 2006.
The Awards are open to all public sector agencies including departments, authorities, boards, commissions, government trading enterprises and state owned corporations. The Awards recognise achievements in the following categories:
- Business, Management and Financial Performance
- Community Building
- Information and Communications Technology
- Service Delivery
- Services to Rural/Regional NSW
- Social Justice
- The Environment and Natural Resources
- Workforce Development
Nominated projects may be large or small, single or multi-agency. Nominations are to be submitted electronically and in hard copy as outlined in the attached Guidelines and Nomination Form.
Details of the 2005 Award winners are on the Premier's Department website under What's New.
This year, the Premier's Public Sector Awards ceremony will include the winners of the Annual Reporting Award, a joint initiative between the Public Bodies Review Committee and the Public Accounts Committee of the Legislative Assembly.
I encourage all Chief Executives to nominate achievements from their organisations for a 2006 Premier's Public Sector Award.
