The purpose of this Circular is to advise Department Heads of:
- increases in expense related allowances under the Crown Employees (Skilled Trades) Award; and
- corrections to rates of pay published in Circular 2005-36 Crown Employees Wages Staff (Rates of Pay) Award 2005, with respect to the Crown Employees (Security and General Services) Award
Detailed Outline
The purpose of this Circular is to advise Department Heads of:
- increases in expense related allowances under the Crown Employees (Skilled Trades) Award; and
- corrections to rates of pay published in Circular 2005-36 Crown Employees Wages Staff (Rates of Pay) Award 2005, with respect to the Crown Employees (Security and General Services) Award.
1. Increases in expense related allowances
Expense related allowances, such as tool and meal allowances, under the Crown Employees (Skilled Trades) Award have been increased. Expense related allowances move independently to increases in rates of pay in line with relevant CPI increases. The variations made by the Industrial Relations Commission of NSW are as follows:

These variations are effective from the beginning of the first pay period to commence on or after 11 September 2006.
2. Incorrect rates of pay under Circular 2005-36 Crown Employees Wages Staff (Rates of Pay Award) 2005
It has come to the attention of the Public Employment Office that the increases in rates of pay under Circular 2005-36 Crown Employees Wages Staff (Rates of Pay) Award 2005, with respect to the Crown Employees (Security and General Services) Award were incorrect. Please note that the error is limited to Circular 2005-36, with the correct rates of pay appearing in the NSW Industrial Gazette.
The rates of pay for the Crown Employees (Security and General Services) Award appearing in Schedule B to Circular 2005-36 should be substituted with the following:
