Detailed Outline
I am writing to bring to your attention NSW Seniors Week - Sunday, 11 March to Sunday, 18 March. 250,000 seniors are expected to attend 700 events across NSW. On Monday, 12 March and Tuesday, 13 March, 30,000 seniors attending the Premier's Gala Concerts at the Sydney Entertainment Centre, will utilise public transport and other state government services. Special event transport arrangements including additional train services and special event traffic management plans have been put into place for each of these days. The Department meets regularly with its traffic and transport stakeholder group - City of Sydney, NSW Police, RailCorp, Roads and Traffic Authority (RTA), State Transit Authority (STA) and Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority (SHFA) to plan the event and to help minimise disruption to commuters and traffic. On Sunday 18 March, the finale event for Seniors Week coincides with the 75th anniversary of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. This event is held at the Sydney Town Hall and all ticket holders have been informed of the closure of the bridge and the special event transport arrangements for the day. I ask you to bring this to the attention of your staff, especially those who deal with the general public and I ask your assistance to ensure the smooth running of these operations. If you require further information about NSW Seniors Week, please contact DADHC's Manager of Events on 02 8270 2461 or [email protected] Col GellatlyDirector GeneralPremier's Department
