Description
The Roads and Traffic Authority (RTA) acts as a contractor and adviser to NSW public sector agencies for road related projects.
Detailed Outline
The Roads and Traffic Authority (RTA) acts as a contractor and adviser to NSW public sector agencies for road related projects.
The RTA is also the NSW Government’s roads supplier. The RTA’s service delivery arm in relation to road works operates on a commercial basis.
Public sector agencies seeking to engage the RTA for road-related construction, maintenance, technical and other services are advised that there are no tendering policies or legal requirements that prevent them from directly approaching the RTA for work relating to government assets.
Agencies must, however, satisfy the requirement to ensure value-for-money on all projects.
Moreover, agencies planning capital works projects that involve road construction, (e.g. vehicular accesses and road relocations) should consult with the RTA with regard to the scope of the planned works and the cost estimates to be included in their business case.
Any enquiries should be directed to Mr Richard Boggon, Director Commercial Services, RTA on telephone number 02 8588 5300.
