The Crown Employees (Public Service Conditions of Employment) Award 2009 replaces the Crown Employees (Public Service Conditions of Employment) Reviewed Award 2006 which was varied on 13 November 2008 to effect changes agreed in the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Government and the Public Service Association (PSA) to settle the Crown Employees Salaries Award.
The Award incorporates clarification of some MOU variations, purchased leave provisions, and award modernisation as required under s19 of the Industrial Relations Act 1996.
A new clause on purchased leave has been inserted into the Award. Purchased Leave is a voluntary arrangement where employees may purchase additional leave. The approval of Purchased Leave Agreements is subject to departmental business needs. The Purchased Leave Policy, Fact Sheet and Agreement Form are attached.
A summary of changes to conditions under the new Award is at Schedule A.
Agencies covered by the Crown Employees Salaries Award Memorandum of Understanding that have enterprise specific awards will need to vary their conditions as soon as practicable in line with these changes.
The Award, including a copy with the changes indicated in bold will be placed on the Department of Premier and Cabinet website www.dpc.nsw.gov.au under Public Sector Employment Pay and Conditions.
Amendments to the Personnel Handbook are currently being prepared in relation to the changes outlined in Schedule A.
