- The Public Sector Employment and Management Amendment (Ethics and Public Service Commissioner) Act 2011 amends the Public Sector Employment and Management Act 2002 to create a Public Service Commissioner and establish a legislated ethical framework for the entire public sector.

That Act commences today, the effect being that from today we have:
- a Public Service Commissioner (Mr Graeme Head);
- a new independent agency, the NSW Public Service Commission (PSC);
- the transfer of a number of functions from the Department of Premier and Cabinet (DPC) to the PSC.
- Certain functions, such as those relating to special temporary employees and public sector industrial matters, will remain with the Director General of the Department of Premier and Cabinet.
