DCS-2020-03 Smart Infrastructure Policy

This circular and policy sets the minimum requirements for smart technology to be embedded in all new and upgraded infrastructure from 2020. Agencies are required to comply with the policy and requirements for all new and upgraded infrastructure.

This circular and policy sets the minimum requirements for smart technology to be embedded in all new and upgraded infrastructure from 2020. Agencies are required to comply with the policy and requirements for all new and upgraded infrastructure.

This policy completes recommendation 32 of the State Infrastructure Strategy 2018-2038.

The Policy outlines different layers in which standardisation is needed to achieve the social, economic and environment benefits of a smart place.

All infrastructure projects subject to the Infrastructure Investor Assurance Framework (IIAF) or the ICT Assurance Framework will need to comply with the policy and be required to complete an options analysis prior to Gate 1 and Gate 2 reviews.

Compliance with the Smart Infrastructure policy is from the date of issue of this circular.Whilst the policy does not apply to Local Councils,
