About
The Premier has asked me to forward to you revised guidelines in respect of travel by Ministers on official business.
The changes which have been made to the previously issued arrangements, relate to:
Study Tours (One Visit in Each Parliamentary Term) - a second staff member may also proceed, instead of an officer. However, the previous requirement, whereby the need has to be established for the attendance of 2 persons, has been retained.
Travel on Official Business to New Zealand - regarded as the same as the arrangements for travel within Australia, and for the payment of travelling allowances.
Attendance at Ministerial Council Meetings in Papua New Guinea and New Zealand - revised arrangements.
Management of the Government Air Reservations Bureau by the Traveland Organisation.
Would you please arrange for the new guidelines to be incorporated in Section 6 of your handbook "Responsibilities and Entitlements of Ministers".
Gary L. Sturgess
Director-General
