After giving this matter careful consideration I have approved of part-time members of boards and commissions being reimbursed for the cost of parking fees, when driving their private motor vehicles to attend meetings.
This entitlement will apply to part-time members who have their motor vehicles covered by a comprehensive motor vehicle insurance policy, which includes an indemnification of the Crown against liability for any loss from use of their vehicle on official business. Insurance companies are usually willing to add the indemnity to a policy as a matter of course.
Please bring this Memo to the attention of all Departments andAuthorities within your administration.
