About
As you are aware, the Prime Minister in his speech at the National Press Club yesterday announced that there would be a special Premier's Conference in Brisbane on 30 and 31 October to consider Commonwealth State Relations.
I would like to ensure that this historical Premier's Conference achieves the maximum benefits to both Australia and New South Wales. As you are aware, I have indicated my full support for this challenging task and I look forward to your co-operation in ensuring that New South Wales is fully prepared for the Conference.
The New South Wales' input to this Premier's Conference will be co-ordinated by the Director-General of The Cabinet Office, Mr. Gary Sturgess. I have asked him to chair a special Sub-Committee of the Management Council to co-ordinate preparations for this Conference. The Cabinet Office, which has the responsibility for intergovernmental relations, will be providing the support services.
I would appreciate if you could ensure the co-operation of all agencies within your portfolio.
