About
As you would be aware, the State Budget included the means-tested extension to war widows of concessions currently available to PHB card-holders.
This extension is on the basis that war widows would receive the available concessions where they:
- hold the lilac Dependant Treatment Entitlement Card,
- receive the full "frozen" age pension ($60.05 per week) if aged 60 or more; or
- have total income less than $262.35 per week, if aged under 60 years.
I would be grateful if you could ensure that agencies within your portfolio arrange for the extension of these concessions to eligible war widows as a matter of urgency, preferably with an effective date of 12 September.
Any queries agencies may have regarding the criteria for these concessions could be directed to Mr Jim Cox on 228 4091.
