M1995-40 Flexible Work Practices

Description

As part of the NSW Government's commitment to the development of a responsive, flexible public sector, the policy and guidelines on Flexible Work Practices have been revised.

Detailed Outline

As part of the NSW Government's commitment to the development of a responsive, flexible public sector, the policy and guidelines on Flexible Work Practices have been revised.

The revised document is the result of extensive consultation with public agencies and the public sector unions. It includes a range of changes to flexible work practice options. In particular the working from home and variable year employment options have been further developed, to provide clearer and more detailed advice to agencies regarding these options. This advice includes a model working from home agreement.

The NSW Government encourages more flexible working arrangements including working from home. Flexible work practices offer opportunities for public agencies to improve performance and productivity through work arrangements that are mutually beneficial for agencies and their employees.

Please ensure that all public agencies within your administration, including authorities outside the public service, continue to their efforts to implement flexible work practices.

Achievements will be monitored by the Office of the Director of Equal Opportunity in Public Employment.

Enquiries in relation to this policy should be directed to Judith Withers, Public Employment Office on (02) 228 5514.
