Strategies for Flexible Workplace Arrangements focuses on providing agencies, regardless of their size, with practical guidance in establishing and sustaining successful workplace arrangements. The release of this document further complements existing resources already available to public sector agencies, relating to flexible workplace arrangements.

The overall strategy outlined in this resource supports the Government’s main priority, which is to deliver quality services to the people of NSW. By encouraging workplace cultures that support flexibility, public sector agencies are well placed to meet customer expectations while assisting employees to balance their work, life and family needs.

It is encouraging to note that public sector agencies are trialing a wide range of innovative flexible workplace arrangements which have proven to be successful over time. A small sample of these arrangements have been developed as Case Studies and are included in this document to provide the impetus for further development and implementation of successful workplace arrangements at the agency level.

I commend these guidelines to you and ask that you ensure that all public agencies within your administration continue their efforts to implement flexible workplace arrangements.
