About

The NSW Government’s Consultative Arrangements Policy reaffirms the NSW Government’s commitment to effective consultation with employees and their representatives, including unions, on matters relating to workplace changes.

1. Purpose and coverage

The NSW Government’s Consultative Arrangements Policy (the Policy) provides key principles and structure to strengthen cooperative and consultative approaches between employers, employees and unions, to promote and implement positive and productive engagement in the NSW government sector.

2. Application

The Policy applies to the government sector as defined in section 3(1) of the Government Sector Employment Act 2013 (NSW). State Owned Corporations, including their subsidiaries and other public sector bodies are strongly encouraged to apply the principles set out in the Policy.
