The NSW Government has undergone a competitive re-tendering process, resulting in the procurement of a new whole of government media monitoring service.

These services will be provided to all Ministers’ Offices and eligible NSW government agencies. Under Board Direction 2012-02 NSW government agencies must use whole-of-government contracts for obtaining goods and services to which those contracts apply.

This arrangement applies to:

• Social media monitoring
• Print and online monitoring
• Broadcast (television and radio) monitoring
• Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) media monitoring
• Media analytics and reporting

This new arrangement will commence in September 2018, at which time the incumbent whole of government service will cease. Ministers’ Offices and agencies currently engaging suppliers for additional services should consult with the Department of Premier and Cabinet concerning their arrangements. 

All Ministers’ Offices and agencies will be invited to attend a series of briefings and training sessions in the coming months. Agencies should prioritise attendance to these sessions and ensure that any requested information is submitted in a timely manner to ensure that services are implemented as soon as possible.
