P1995-44 Requirement to Unattach where Position is Deleted
Restructuring in departments often involves the deletion of outdated positions and the creation of some more appropriate positions. Where old positions have been deleted it is necessary to ensure that the officers holding these positions are declared unattached. Pending advertising and full recruitment action it is possible to place unattached office holders into acting positions within new departmental structures.

It is not possible, however, for office holders to be held against positions which have been deleted and at the same time to be acting in comparable positions in any new structure.
Could you please ensure that appropriate administrative action is taken to declare unattached any office holders within your organisation whose position has been deleted as a result of restructure.
Any inquiries concerning the above matter may be addressed to Nicholle Nobel on 228-5520.
