About
Following a transfer of ownership, Sonic HealthPlus will replace Medibank Health Solutions for medical services for the NSW government from 2 October 2015 until 6 June 2016.
Following its acquisition of Medibank Workplace Health from Medibank Health Solutions (MHS), Sonic HealthPlus (SHP) will take over the contract to provide medical services to the NSW government from 2 October 2015 until 6 June 2016.
SHP will be the ‘nominated medical assessor’ for the NSW Public Service in relation to fitness for duty assessments for employees under clause 15 of the Government Sector Employment Regulations 2014. Public Service agencies (as listed in Schedule 1 to the Government Sector Employment Act 2013) must use SHP for fitness for duty assessments under that clause.
Non-Public Service agencies in the NSW government sector may also use SHP services under the novation agreement.
Core services will be unchanged but there will be some minor changes for agencies arranging medical assessments and invoicing arrangements. These are set out in the Frequently Asked Questions attached.
G2015-004 - Medical Assessment Services for the NSW Public Sector replaces D2011-08 – Medical Assessment Services for the NSW Public Sector and outlines arrangements for using the new provider.
