I am pleased to make available to you the State of the NSW Public Sector Report 2012.
This report is a first of its kind in NSW. It is, therefore, an important milestone in what is a comprehensive push to put the NSW public sector back at the leading edge in both its approach to service delivery, and the way it conducts itself as the steward of significant public resources and important institutions.
The State of the NSW Public Sector Report 2012 is organised around three key drivers of performance: values and ethics; capability; and productivity. It establishes the baseline against which progress can be measured over time. Importantly, it sets out not only the state of things as they are today; but the pressures on the sector and some of the responses that will either address existing problems or prevent new ones.
This circular is an invitation to you to read the State of the NSW Public Sector Report 2012, watch the Premier’s video message and the Commissioner’s video message and discuss the issues identified and my response to those issues, in your teams.
In addition to the State of the NSW Public Sector Report 2012 there are two companion reports: People Matter Employee Survey Main Findings and the Workforce Profile 2012 Report.
These reports will become an essential tool in focusing effort and thinking on the key issues that affect the public sector’s capacity to deliver on behalf of the NSW Government.
The State of the NSW Public Sector Report 2012 can provide analysis that assists in unlocking talent, identifying gaps in capability, building proper organisational cultures and improving productivity.
The PSC welcomes your thoughts and feedback about the report which can be emailed to [email protected]
