About

The First Nations Partnership Assessment Policy provides directions to NSW General Government Sector (GGS) agencies on when and how to complete First Nations partnership assessments for new measures.

Overview

All GGS agencies must prepare First Nations partnership assessments for new measures that meet the eligibility criteria.

The NSW Government has committed to change the way it works in developing and implementing policies and programs that impact the lives of First Nations people in New South Wales. This new way of working includes listening and engagement with First Nations people through meaningful partnerships. This reflects both state and national commitments under Closing the Gap and the NSW Opportunity, Choice, Healing, Responsibility, Empowerment (OCHRE) Strategy.

The TPG24-26 First Nations Partnership Assessment Policy was formerly known as the First Nations Impact Assessment Policy.
