About

Superseded by M2008-10 Making Nsw Film Friendly.

Film making is now a vital element in the strength of the State's economy. Film makers tell me they find it easy to make movies here. But I want to drive home our comparative advantage. That means government should not put red tape in the way of film production.

In fact, it is the clear policy of this Government that the highest possible level of cooperation with film makers be given by all agencies. It is expected that chief executives will act to ensure that, where possible:

  • there is a responsive and cooperative attitude in dealing with filming requests
  • applications for access are processed promptly
  • access to locations is not unreasonably withheld
  • fees are kept to a minimum
  • a film contact officer is nominated and the NSW Film and Television Office is provided with that name
  • film contact officers are aware of the need to accommodate film production and identify film opportunities within their area.
