Administrative Requirements

Since 1977 the Spokeswomen’s Program has provided women employed in the NSW Public Sector with opportunities to develop their skills and networks, and promote women’s work and career needs.

Two tools, Risk-Based Compliance and Assessment Against the Competition Test, have been prepared to supplement the Guide to Better Regulation.

The purpose of this standard is to establish minimum requirements for digital recordkeeping in the New South Wales public sector to enable NSW public offices to implement digital recordkeeping systems that will support business efficiency and organisational accountability.

It establishes the conditions that must be met before public offices are authorised, under the provisions of the State Records Act, to destroy source records that have been successfully migrated.

The Department of Premier and Cabinet, in conjunction with the Department of Commerce, has established the Prequalification Scheme: Performance and Management Services – a list of prequalified service providers to assist NSW Government agencies and statutory corporations to engage the best external expertise in the following areas: Performance Reviews – including reviews of agencies, programs, budgetary and performance targets, management, functions, policies and strategies, and legislation and regulation Infrastructure and Major Projects – advice and/or assistance regarding strategy and planning, risk, major project procurement and delivery, contracting, communication and project management Service Delivery Improvement – advice and/or assistance regarding service strategy and planning, service implementation, service performance and service evaluation Organisational Capacity – advice and/or assistance regarding governance and reporting, corporate and business strategy, business process improvement, communication, human resources, financial management, asset management and procurement and office services General Technical Expertise – advice and/or assistance regarding policy development, business case development, contracts and contracting, project governance and management, issues management, financial and economic analysis, budget management and environmental impact assessment The Scheme will operate for an initial two year period.

Proclamation from the Governor-General that alongside Australian National Flag Day will also be Merchant Navy Day to be commemorated annually on 3 September.

The Public Sector Employment and Management Act 2002 and Public Sector Employment and Management Regulation 1996 have been amendedto provide Departments and other public sector agencies with greater recruitment flexibility.

This Memorandum introduces updated guidelines to reflect current government advertising policy, and to implement the recommendations of the Auditor-General following the Performance Audit of Government Advertising in 2007.
