The Department of Administrative Services is carrying out a series of major purchasing and supply reforms. As part of this process, a series of measures will be put into effect over the next 12 months which should substantially improve the service levels provided by the Government Supply warehouse operation at Alexandria while maintaining competitive prices.

I wish to draw to the attention of Ministers the need for: prompt replies to be furnished when their advices are sought on Cabinet proposals; and for all correspondence to appropriately identify the particular Cabinet proposal.As you will appreciate, it is necessary that all requests for advice on Cabinet proposals be dealt with promptly to ensure that proposals can be placed on the Cabinet Agenda within reasonable timeframes and that, where applicable, the drafting of bills is not delayed.
