On 13 March 2006 Her Majesty the Queen invested Her Excellency the Governor of New South Wales with the insignia of a Commander of the Royal Victorian Order.The full title of the Governor for use in respect of Commissions, Proclamations, etc is now:“Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir, Companion of the Order of Australia, Commander of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor of the State of New South Wales in the Commonwealth of Australia”In those instances where the use of a shorter title would be appropriate, for example in the case of certain Proclamations etc the title “Professor Marie Bashir AC, CVO, Governor of the State of New South Wales” may be used.
