Administrative Requirements

This Direction deals with procurement of human services from non-government organisations (NGOs) by a NSW government agency within the meaning of Public Works and Procurement Act 1912 (“Government Agency").

To support this purpose, the document has been structured in two (2) parts.

The Government receives a large number of requests or invitations to provide input into various inquiries or reviews, and to respond to reports on inquiries or reviews, including inquiries undertaken by: State statutory or Parliamentary committees; Commonwealth Government agencies, the Commonwealth Parliament, various Commissions or special inquiries; and non-government organisations or international bodies.

The Premier’s Awards have 12 categories to showcase achievements and progress towards the NSW Premier’s priorities, and nominations can be made for both individuals and teams. The categories are: Improving Government Services Driving Public Sector Diversity Creating Jobs Reducing Domestic Violence Improving Service Levels in Hospitals Tackling Childhood Obesity Improving Education Results Protecting Our Kids Keeping our Environment Clean Building Infrastructure Faster Housing Approvals Reducing Youth Homelessness The most outstanding individual winner within the 12 categories is also awarded the Premier’s Award for Individual Excellence and Achievement.

The RIAF provides for independent advice and assurance to an agency’s existing internal project delivery processes and is complemented, post implementation, by the NSW Government Program Evaluation process.

The Policy: establishes a Gateway Coordination Agency (GCA) for each major category of spend: INSW as the GCA for capital, DFSI for ICT projects and Treasury for major recurrent projects.
