To allow more targeted recruitment for base grade positions outside the Sydney metropolitan area (including regional and country locations) it has been decided that such positions may be advertised in local newspapers without also being placed in the composite classified advertisement section of the Sydney Morning Herald and the Telegraph Mirror.

Travelling Allowances within Australia: Travelling allowances have recently been reviewed following variations to the rates for Clause 39 of the Public Sector Management (General) Regulation, 1988 and the following rates are to be effective on and from lst December, 1990 for each group of officers.
