Section 42S (8) of the Public Sector Management Act 1988, provides that if a former CES/SES officer is re-appointed to the public sector or a State owned corporation or a subsidiary of such owned corporation then that person must reimburse a proportionate amount of the compensation received.

It has been decided that, effective immediately, the administration of remuneration packages for Chief Executive Officers who have been declared unattached in terms of section 42Q of the Public Sector Management Act 1988, is to become the responsibility of the Public Employment Office.
